Wave Ultima 9 Amsterdam 2017

Hero de Janeiro is a Dutch street artist and DJ from Amsterdam. Internationally known for his street art signature work in the Wijdesteeg street in the Amsterdam city center, he decorated the street vowels in a colorful pattern and used graffiti with permission of the city to put his puzzle masterpiece on the facade of a building.

The result is a colorful street, who's colors also reflect the diversity of Amsterdam and its multicultural nature. Hero is not only an extraordinary artist, but also an inspiring individual. Breaking his back 18 years ago he was told that he would be confined to a wheelchair. As an artist and a DJ this was a though time for Hero, watch the video below to find out how he made it back!

Hero's slogan 'Amsterdam Loves You' also refers to the openminded society of Amsterdam. For the 2017 Amsterdam Marathon edition he partnered up with me to design the 2017 Amsterdam Ultima 9 edition in his signature puzzle piece pattern! A truly unique special edition.
